By purchasing a ticket, submitting an application, registering, attending, participating, sponsoring, vending, exhibiting, or otherwise engaging with Africa Fashion Week Maryland & Maryland Africa Fashion Week (AFWMMAFW) (“AFWMMAFW,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions in their entirety.
These Terms & Conditions apply to all attendees, designers, models, vendors, sponsors, partners, media representatives, volunteers, and guests.
1. Ticket Sales, Registration & Refund Policy
- All sales are final. This includes, but is not limited to, event tickets, application fees, vendor fees, sponsorship packages, and exhibitor fees.
- No refunds, exchanges, or transfers will be issued under any circumstances, including scheduling conflicts, illness, travel issues, weather conditions, or personal matters.
- Chargebacks and payment disputes are strictly prohibited. Any attempt to reverse a payment may result in revocation of access, removal from the event, and potential legal action.
- Refunds will be issued only if an event is canceled in its entirety and cannot be rescheduled. In such cases, refunds will be processed to the original payment method within a reasonable timeframe.
2. Event Changes & Force Majeure
AFWMMAFW reserves the right to modify or change, at its sole discretion:
- Event dates, times, schedules, venues, formats, or layouts
- Designers, models, performers, speakers, judges, or program content
Such changes do not constitute grounds for a refund.
Events may proceed rain or shine. In the event of unforeseen circumstances—including but not limited to weather conditions, public health guidance, acts of God, government restrictions, or safety concerns—AFWMMAFW may reschedule, relocate, or adjust the event format. All tickets and registrations will remain valid for the rescheduled event.
3. Photography, Video & Media Release
By entering any AFWMMAFW venue or participating in any AFWMMAFW-related activity, you grant AFWMMAFW the irrevocable right to:
- Photograph, record, and capture your image, voice, name, likeness, and performance
- Use such content for promotional, marketing, advertising, educational, and archival purposes across all media platforms worldwide
This release is granted without compensation, notification, or further approval unless otherwise stated in a written agreement.
4. Code of Conduct
AFWMMAFW is committed to providing a safe, respectful, inclusive, and professional environment.
- Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, abusive language, disorderly conduct, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
- AFWMMAFW reserves the right to deny entry, revoke credentials, or remove any individual from the event without refund at its sole discretion.
- Compliance with event staff, security, and venue personnel is mandatory at all times.
5. Assumption of Risk & Liability Disclaimer
Participation in AFWMMAFW events is voluntary and at your own risk.
- AFWMMAFW shall not be held liable for personal injury, illness, death, loss, theft, or damage to personal property occurring before, during, or after the event.
- AFWMMAFW is not responsible for the actions, omissions, or representations of third parties, including ticketing platforms, sponsors, vendors, designers, or attendees.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to release and hold harmless AFWMMAFW, its officers, directors, staff, partners, and affiliates from any claims arising out of your participation.
6. Vendor, Designer, Model & Sponsor Responsibilities
- Vendors, designers, models, and sponsors are solely responsible for the legality, safety, accuracy, and originality of their products, materials, performances, and representations.
- AFWMMAFW assumes no responsibility for transactions, agreements, or disputes between third parties and event participants.
- All vendor, exhibitor, and sponsorship fees are non-refundable, except in the event of full event cancellation.
7. Intellectual Property
All AFWMMAFW branding, logos, trademarks, content, stage designs, and event materials are the exclusive property of AFWMMAFW and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without prior written consent.
8. Privacy
Personal information collected in connection with AFWMMAFW events is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms & Conditions by reference.
9. Right to Modify Terms
AFWMMAFW reserves the right to update or amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Continued participation or engagement with AFWMMAFW constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Legal Agreements & Disclaimers Bundle

1. Model Release Agreement (Runway & Media Use)
By participating as a model in any AFWMMAFW event, runway show, rehearsal, fitting, or promotional activity, you agree to the following:
- You grant AFWMMAFW the irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free right to photograph, film, record, and otherwise capture your name, image, likeness, voice, and performance.
- AFWMMAFW may use such content for marketing, advertising, promotional, editorial, educational, and archival purposes across all media platforms now known or later developed.
- You waive any right to inspect or approve the finished content.
- You acknowledge that no additional compensation is owed unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement.
- You confirm you are at least 18 years of age or have parental/legal guardian consent.
2. Designer Agreement
By participating as a designer with AFWMMAFW, you agree:
- All designs presented are original or lawfully licensed and do not infringe on any intellectual property rights.
- AFWMMAFW is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to garments or accessories.
- You grant AFWMMAFW permission to photograph and record your designs for promotional and media use.
- Designer fees are non-refundable.
- AFWMMAFW reserves the right to remove any collection deemed inappropriate, unsafe, or inconsistent with event standards.
3. Vendor Agreement
By registering as a vendor or exhibitor at AFWMMAFW:
- You are responsible for the legality, safety, and quality of all products and materials sold or displayed.
- You agree to comply with all venue, health, safety, and licensing requirements.
- AFWMMAFW is not responsible for vendor sales, transactions, disputes, or lost revenue.
- Vendor fees are final and non-refundable.
- AFWMMAFW reserves the right to remove vendors for non-compliance without refund.
4. Sponsor Agreement
By entering into a sponsorship relationship with AFWMMAFW:
- Sponsorship fees are non-refundable.
- Sponsor branding and benefits are provided as outlined in the agreed sponsorship package.
- AFWMMAFW retains final approval over placement, programming, and event execution.
- Sponsors grant AFWMMAFW permission to use sponsor logos and trademarks for promotional purposes.
- AFWMMAFW is not liable for sponsor expectations beyond the written agreement.
5. Short-Form Ticket Disclaimer (Eventbrite Checkout)
ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-exchangeable. Event details, schedule, venue, and participants are subject to change. By purchasing a ticket, you consent to photography and media use and agree to AFWMMAFW’s Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
